Keyword Searches Around Our Industry

Just exactly what is being searched pertaining to our industry

In order to establish an SEO strategy for your business, you first have to identify the search terms that you want to target. I have done some generic searching based on our industry, I have not localised the results nor did I try any of the longtail phrases that I would if I was doing so for my business. However, what I did find out was really interesting.

Firstly, the most used search term pertaining to our industry was “Hearing” this term is used in search over six million times monthly. This doesn’t always relate to our industry, it could be court hearing etc., but it begins to give you an idea of the search traffic on-going. it becomes more interesting when it gets to the term “Aids hearing”, this term is searched globally 823,000 times monthly. As our terms such as “Where to get hearing aids”, “What is hearing aids” and the simple term “Hearing aids”.

The next level of searches begin with “Hearing impaired”, “Hearing devices” and “Hearingaids” at 368,000 searches globally monthly. The next tranche of searches are really based around the term “Hearing test” which is searched about 100,000 times globally monthly. We then move to the meat of the last post, search terms around “Price of hearing aid” get over 40,000 searches monthly globally. There is nearly a dozen differing search terms around searches for the price of hearing instruments that all get massive traffic.

The next real tranche is the search term “Hearing aid reviews” which get a little over 27,000 searches each. As you can see, the net is alive with traffic, sorry got a bit sound of music there, traffic that pertains to our industry. Don’t forget those numbers are monthly searches, every month on average. The question is would you like some of that business? I am sure you would, but in order to get it you need to deploy a well planned and executed online strategy.

That alone is not enough, that will get you visitors, but you also have to then convert those visitors to prospects, then you can begin the conversion of those prospects to sales. I did not say it would be easy gentlemen and ladies. Please find below a table with the first 100 odd search terms and search numbers.

I find the engagement and discourse on some social media channels fascinating. I instituted social media strategy for the company I worked for as an experiment. I think that our industry is in the middle of a time of huge change, I think that the change will be forced by both internal and external pressure. I think that private Independent Healthcare Practices will have to be smart and lithe of feet in order to meet these changes. I hope that some of my blatherings are of benefit to those Practices, Independent Hearing Healthcare Practices need to survive. I believe that if that occurs it will be of real benefit to Patients. I hope that I, and my writings will play a small part in their continued success.
