Audiology Marketing, Setting Up Online Channels

Audiology Marketing, Set Up The Channels You Are Going To Use In Your Online  Strategy

Initially you need to consider which channels you will leverage in your audiology marketing strategy. I would recommend Twitter, Google+ and WordPress for the blog. You have to understand how each works and more importantly how to use them. Only then can you use them successfully as a dynamic part of your marketing strategy. But first we need to be clear  about setting the channels up.

Naming Those Channels

Before you do anything, you need to consider what you will name the channels. Whilst using your Practice name will help with your consistent branding if deployed across all of the channels. Perhaps something that takes account of long-tail keyword phrases in your area would be a better idea for your audiology marketing strategy?

You need to do some research here on the Google keyword tool. Find out what exactly is searched locally pertaining to hearing aids or hearing healthcare. It may be possible for instance that a big phrase search is hearing aids in (your area). In that case perhaps hearing aids in (your area) should be the name of your channels. Or to be slightly more sophisticated hearing healthcare in (your area).

This needs to be considered as both a branding and SEO issue. Whilst it may be appealing for SEO purposes, it is not imperative. You can use your brand name as the channel name and the hearing aids or healthcare in (your area) in the tag line. That will still be of great worth for SEO purposes. I think that your brand is of real importance long term as part of your audiology marketing strategy. So I would use your brand name across all of the channels. However that is a personal decision, you should think about what you prefer.

Setting Up Twitter

Go to www.twitter.com on the screen you will see a call to action button named sign up. Click that button and we are away. It is an easy process to set up your profile, I recommend that you add a bio at this stage. You can use that bio to intelligently leverage keywords. By Intelligently I mean in a way that makes sense. Something like providers of quality hearing care/hearing aids in (your area) since ?

Setting Up Google+

Setting up Google+ is a little different, being a Google product you will need to set up a Google account. If you already have a Gmail address, you already have a Google account. If you Don’t, we need to get one, so go to www.gmail.com. Again, there is a call to action button called Sign Up, click that button and we are off. Once you have set up a Gmail account you can then go to Google+ and set up a profile there.

Once that is done, you can then set up a business profile for your Practice. Be prepared to upload a logo and a header image. you can also set up a bio here. Again think about it intelligently, use long-tail key-phrases you want to target.

Setting Up WordPress

For the purposes of this walk through I am going to detail the setting up of a WordPress.com blog. That is a blog that is hosted by WordPress.com as opposed to a WordPress blog that is self hosted. More about that another time, first we need to go to www.wordpress.com and guess what, yep, a call to action button that says Sign Up Free.

Click that button and we are through to the account set up. It is really simple, pick your blog name, set up your sign in details and create your blog. Before you take another step, review the videos at WordPress video tutorials . The video tutorials are by a guy named Brad Dalton, his site can be found at wpsites.

So we have set up your channels, they are now ready to be used in your audiology marketing strategy. Next post I’ll talk about tools that will simplify the use of these channels.
