Unite University, An Excellent Conference From Unitron UK
I had the very great pleasure to spend two days at the Unite University in Manchester at the weekend. The Unite University is a conference event run by Unitron UK. The conference focuses on education that will make a real difference to their customers’ Practice. In essence it is education and learning outcomes focused on customer service, Practice management and marketing. The conference was exceptionally well attended and everybody I spoke to was excited about the agenda.
The first lecture on day one was from Jez Rose, Jez is an authority in the Behavioural Psychology field. An international speaker who is much in demand by some of the biggest names in industry. His lecture was delivered in his own, by now famous, style. Everyone who attends his lectures very rarely forgets them. He outlined clear actionable points to go about delivering efficacious change within our Practices. Change that would deliver real benefit to our Patients and our businesses.
The second lecture was delivered by Tony Niederer, Director of Marketing Services for Unitron Global. His lecture was based on the digital enhancement of traditional marketing. It outlined how digital activity could enhance and expand the impact of traditional marketing activities. He outlined clear strategies and delivery methods to a particularly attentive crowd. He also hinted at possible assistance coming down the line with digital collateral that could be easily re-purposed by customers for use within their digital marketing strategy. The first example of this was the newly launched U-Hear App for IOS which was showcased at the conference.
The third and final expanded lecture was delivered by Anthony Quigley of the Digital Marketing Institute. He outlined digital marketing for business, his lecture covered Inbound or Content Marketing, elements of SEO, Pay Per Click Marketing and email marketing. He was easy to listen to, plain speaking and quite likeable. The appetite for information in the audience surprised even me, the lecture was only finished because he had to leave to go to the airport and he was still answering questions as he went out the door.
Day two was filled with workshops delivered by Dee Blick FCIM, Chartered Marketer. Dee delivered excellent tips that were actionable immediately. She customised her suggestions for hearing healthcare, outlining how to deliver on each idea within a hearing healthcare Practice. She purposely ensured that the attendees worked together, sharing ideas and concepts. Again, it was obvious that the audience were hungry for and appreciative of what she had to deliver.
Everyone I spoke to was exceptionally pleased to have attended the conference. It is no easy thing to take a day out of Practice and sacrifice a day of your own precious family time to attend a conference. It seemed though that everyone I spoke to was happy that they did. People were buzzing with potential, discussing and exchanging ideas in an open way. It really was quite an exciting thing to watch.
Unitron UK delivered an excellent value added conference to their customers. One that they can rightly be proud of. I for one would like to thank them, making special mention for Joe and Lauren of the marketing team who undertook stalwart work to ensure the conference was delivered. Thank you for inviting me and please don’t forget me when you hold another one.
