Audiology Marketing, Leveraging Google Authorship To Help Drive Your Inbound Marketing
This however is speculation at present, Google is remaining relatively tight lipped about its plans. However, Google Authorship and the use of the rel author tag already has real benefits for anyone who is writing content. Anyone who is writing good content as part of an inbound audiology marketing strategy. If you have a blog and you write good content, you should be leveraging Google Authorship.
The initial benefit of the use of the rel author tag is the appearance of a picture beside your content in the search returns on Google. Here is an example of a search return showing some of my content:
As you can see to the left of the content return is a picture of myself. Something to frighten the children with! The picture is taken from my Google+ profile, which is the anchor of all Google Authorship use. The picture serves to draw the eye of the viewer, particularly if it is either the only one or one of two on a page. The search returns that have a picture beside them will be the ones to be clicked.
This is the initial benefit of Google Authorship, it is a real benefit though. It will really help your online audiology marketing strategy. It is also something that is easy to set up. It seems silly to go through the effort of writing a piece for your blog, ensuring that it fits good SEO principles and have it turn up on page one of the search results. Just to have it ignored because a gobshite like me is smart enough to use the rel author tag! That would not be fair, in fact that would be downright un-fair.
So down with the gobshites, claim your authorship and help drive your online audiology marketing returns.

Geoff
P.S. Gobshite is an Irish technical term! That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
